KOOZ carries out its activities in 5 communes, including visits to charges combined with the examination of their needs. With the participation of the home hospice medical team and network partners, KOOZ supports and satisfies the current medical and non-medical needs using the network resources in winter season – especially difficult for many dependent people living in isolation. The interdisciplinary medical team of the hospice continues visiting the patient’s. Cleaning works have been carried out in the houses and in their surroundings, we operate in the field of eliminating architectural barriers, help with various types of official matters, we provide respite care.

As part of educational activities, meetings for school volunteers in two primary schools (Narew and Gródek) were conducted by a nurse from a home hospice. The meetings were aimed, firstly, at introducing the work of the home hospice medical team, and secondly, at stimulating young people to cooperate with the support network.

It should be mentioned that we implement our activities for dependents and their carers in conditions that impose restrictions: subsequent waves of the pandemic, the state of emergency in the border zone, difficult winter weather conditions that are not conducive to movement. IRWiR researchers accompany us remotely, collecting materials for the research on the course of innovation.

An integration meeting for the hospice team was held, which allowed us to get each other know better and to exchange the info information.

At the end of November, the group covered by the innovation counted 33 patients, KOOZ paid 25 visits.

On December 6-10 2021, networking meetings were held in 5 communes, moderated by consultants of the Regional Center for Social Policy, the project Partner. During the meetings we carried out two activities with partners of the network: Christmas aid – we adjusted the nature of the aid to the specific needs of each person under our care, as well as a presentation and discussion on the very current topic of the crisis and how to counteract its effects. At the end of December, we looked after 36 patients, KOOZ visited the group 36 times. The network partners have carried out a number of assistance works, including the preparation and delivery of Christmas packages for the patients.

In December, KOOZ talked about the activities in the project for the program of the nationwide Polsat television station and in an interview for Gazeta Lekarska.

As part of educational activities and in response to the needs of the partners of the network, KOOZ organized two meetings with a psychiatrist on depression and dementia, how to deal with patients affected by these diseases.

In December, there was also a remote meeting of the project partners on current topics moderated by OWOP, project Partner.
