Adam Kujawa, who cooperates with us, and I visited the residents of the “Jawor” Nursing Home in the village of Jałówka, located near the Belarusian border. This is an institution that provides 24-hour care for chronically mentally ill people and is also a partner in a social support network.

The meeting was attended by 16 residents who listened with interest about the functioning of home hospice in Michałowo and a newly establiszed in-patient hospice in Makówka.

Adam, on the other hand, very quickly found a common language with the participants of the meeting, telling them, based on his life story, about the problems of people with disabilities, but also about the fact that disability should not deprive anyone of their dreams, that the world from the perspective of a wheelchair can also be beautiful, it is enough to believe, as he did, and today he is a happy man. The residents of the centre took an active part in the talk and asked questions, which Adam was happy to answer.

The meeting lasted about one hour and we received an invitation for the next visit.
