A Rehabilitation Centre has been established in the municipality of Narewka
Opened on 1 July 2022, the new health facility is the idea and initiative of Narewka Municipality Head Jarosław Gołubowski, who decided to allocate funds in the amount of one million zloty – obtained in a nationwide competition for municipalities entitled ‘Growing Immunity’ – to, among other things, launch the Municipal Rehabilitation Centre in Narewka.
The award received in November 2021 by the Municipality of Narewka for the highest increase in the level of inoculation of its inhabitants with the full cycle of vaccinations against COVID-19 made it possible to finance the purchase of construction materials to carry out the relevant renovation work in the building of the Narewka health centre and to equip its premises with, among other things, the necessary furniture and professional equipment for the implementation of various types of treatment and rehabilitation. The renovation work itself was carried out by the employees of the municipal department of the Narewka Municipality Office.
The facility thus established soon gained new employees – qualified rehabilitation therapists providing various rehabilitation and treatment services to the residents of the Narewka municipality. In order to use them, they must submit a SIGNATURE from their doctor and complete the relevant RECRUITMENT FORM. The newly opened facility remains available to eligible patients 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Its premises are located at 1 Kolejowa St. in Narewka, and the offer is currently as follows:
* Therapeutic manual massage
* AQUAVIBRON massage (vibrating massage)
* Cryotherapy
* Spot laser
* Magnetronik
* Ultrasound
* Electrotherapy (all types of currents).
* Exercise room with equipment
– rotors for upper and lower limbs
– stationary bicycle
– board for manual exercises
– exercise ladders
– bands
– balls
– weights
– sticks
– UGUL – specialised rehabilitation cabin
At the same time, it is not ruled out that the scope and availability of the above-mentioned services will be extended, especially as patients’ interest in the newly established Rehabilitation Centre – from the perspective of the past month of its operation – appears to be very high.
It is worth mentioning at this point that the Narewka Municipality is located in the area of implementation of the innovation ‘To give what is really needed’. At our meetings for the support network partners, we have repeatedly emphasised how important rehabilitation is and how great the needs in this area are in the municipalities – needs that home visits by physiotherapists of the Prophet Elijah Hospice Foundation, as well as home physiotherapy within the framework of the National Health Fund, are often unable to meet. It is therefore with great joy that we welcome the fantastic initiative of the Municipality of Narewka, which will significantly improve access to key treatments also for seniors. Congratulations!
